About Me

I began teaching in Monticello, Illinois at Washington Middle School as a 7th/8th grade Language Arts & Social Studies teacher. I taught there for three years before moving to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where I was the 8th grade World Geography instructor at William Monroe Middle School. After four years there, my family moved to Indiana where I assumed a position teaching 8th grade Language Arts at Owen Valley Middle School. When the opportunity came up to teach social studies, I moved next door to Owen Valley High School where I taught World Geography, AP World Studies, and English 9 & 10 for three years. Most recently, the Wenzels have moved to Oregon where I am now an adjunct instructor at Western Oregon University teaching foundations and technology courses. I’m also knee deep in a Curriculum and Instruction doctoral degree at Portland State University.

In my spare time, I like hanging out with my son, anything outdoorsy, and pretending to be a woodworker.
